Actaris - Technology and Implementation
Problem
Actaris is a leading international meter installation and management company. The company needed a system to manage field workers performing meter management functions such as installations, repairs, inspections and recording location data. The requirement was for a system offering mobile, secure and real-time information.
Solution
Ace Frontline was developed using state-of-the-art mobile technology. The system uses rugged handheld computers and GPRS technology to centrally track all changes in the field in real-time. The system uses a built-in bar code scanner and GPS to reduce the incidence of human error. The solution has been rolled out in locations such as Abu Dhabi where it was used to manage the installation of 60,000 meters.
Shine Initiative
Problem
Local Municipalities needed the ability to extend their internal technology systems to field workers. The challenge was to create a suite of mobile products that would allow field workers to improve productivity and service delivery.
Solution
The Shine Initiative was a DTI sponsored project that harnessed handheld computers to create a mobile solution for work-order management, inventory management, meter management, meter reading, CRM, surveys, GPS mapping and intelligent reporting. Shine streamlines business processes, increases efficiency and reduces costs through the use of mobile technology and wireless devices.
MedESafe
Problem
The challenge was to develop a mass-market electronic medical records system for private medical practises in the United States.
Solution
A user-friendly, highly configurable packaged product was created. MedEsafe was designed and built to hold its own in the highly competitive American software market. Special features include a dynamic forms and patient encounter builder to provide easy customization across different medical practices.
ActNow
Problem
Information technology resellers needed a solution to manage field-workers and streamline company operations. The system needed to integrate seamlessly with Microsoft Accounting, and provide a high degree of control over all out-of-office operations.
Solution
A packaged product called ActNow was created, incorporating many selling tools including a powerful quotation and proposal system, real-time pricing and price comparisons, and stock availability information from suppliers. Purchasing tools automatically generate electronic purchase orders from sales orders, receive shipping and tracking data electronically and provide electronic integration with key suppliers. Mobile tools mobilize the workforce with windows-based PDA's. Office workers can send work orders to technicians and receive completed work orders while technicians are still in the field. Web-based functionality is available for customers and technicians to easily access information.
African Legal Networks
Problem
African Legal Networks are a growing legal assistance sales organisation. They needed a system to create a paperless sales process and manage all policies as well as revenue collection. The system needed to handle the administration of polices and be able to process payments from multiple sources.
Solution
Saratoga implemented Fuzion - a complete direct solution for the sale and administration of various insurance and financial products in a virtual and paperless environment. The application of call centre, web and VOIP technology provided ALN with a powerful platform to sell and administer the company’s products.
