Anthony Robinson (Managing Director):

BSc (Eng)(first class hons), MSc (Eng).

Anthony became managing director in 2002 after Saratoga merged with SAEBEX, a company he founded in 2000 which specialized in electronic billing solutions. Before this he held a senior position at Accenture, specialising in call centres, data warehouses and the application of innovative new technologies to the business mainstream.

Mark Gebhardt (Technical Director):

BSc (Eng)(first class hons), MSc (Eng).

Mark joined Science Systems Space Ltd in the United Kingdom after completing his studies. He was responsible for the design, development, testing and support of satellite space and ground segment control systems for clients including the European Space Agency and EUMETSAT. Returning to South Africa in 1998, he worked for the Radar Remote Sensing Group at UCT, where he had project management and operational responsibility for the Multicomputer Technology Initiative, an R & D programme jointly sponsored by the DTI and De Beers. In June 2000 he became a technical director of Evologic (Pty) Ltd. In January 2001, he moved to SAEBEX to direct technical implementation and in January 2002 he joined Saratoga Software, where he heads up the HR software division and has responsibility for general operations.

JB Maree(Business Development Director):

B.Com (Hons) Economics.

JB spent a year at United (ABSA) as a strategist within their Electronic Banking program before moving to Andersen Consulting, where most of his time was spent in Cape Town developing a portfolio management system (SMAC) for the Institutional Asset Management Industry. He joined Nedcor Investment Bank where he headed up the technology division for the Investment Division and the Private Bank. In 1997 JB left to join SMACSOFT. As director and part-owner of SMACSOFT, he established the Cape Town office and spent the next few years growing the company. His role included business development, strategic product development and marketing. JB was instrumental in taking the SMAC client base from 8 to over 40 of the top financial organizations in SA and helping the company expand off-shore. JB’s role expanded to include investor relations, when the company listed in 1999. In 2001 the company was sold to AFA Systems. Within AFA Systems – JB headed up the partner program and was involved in the acquisition of Common Knowledge from Ixchange.

JB joined Saratoga Software in 2004 to help grow and develop the business.
