As a Java Developer at Saratoga, David is currently working on a project for a financial organisation which annually processes billions of transactions. While David’s primary role on this project is related to the maintenance of an existing system which clears and settles inter-bank transactions, he also fixes bugs, adds new features to the system and works closely with other developers on the design of systems.
David thrives on the range of work he gets to do on this project. “Coming to work not knowing what I will be working on is fulfilling, and the range of problems I get to solve at work is exciting”, explains David.
David is part of our growing team in Johannesburg, and as with our consultants based in Cape Town, career growth is an important part of being a Saratogan. At Saratoga, one of our company values is ‘People Matter’, and this means investing in the career growth and professional development of our staff is very important. “I think a company is as successful as its succession plan, and it’s important for companies to facilitate the career growth of their staff”.
As with many of our Saratogans, David is fascinated by technology and how this is shaping the world we live in. “I’m particularly interested in how technology can solve human problems. For example, how Blockchain technology could help towards solving government corruption, or how life changing Machine Learning could be.”
We’re always looking for talented professionals, so if you’d like to join the Saratoga team take a look at our Open Roles for current opportunities.
